Mawjaat

about

Creative hubs are key actors in the cultural landscape of the southern Mediterranean. As spaces for reflection and experimentation, they share common challenges such as social innovation, civic participation and ecological transition. The Mawjaat project, funded the french Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, relies on a community of operators and cultural actors, as well as connections and expertise both within and beyond the region, to strengthen collaborative cooperations that transform cultural ecological, social, and societal practices.

The term “Mawjaat” (in arabic: موجات) means “waves” in English, a word that evokes the shared sea and suggests ripples of change, an image that resonates with the spirit of the project
