L'blaça

L’Blaça is a collective initiative bringing together five Tunisian civil society organizations with complementary expertise: the Association Tunisienne de Permaculture, Beity, Le Collectif Créatif, Ftartchi, and Shanti. United by a shared commitment to community-led development, the collective was formed to mutualize spaces, tools, and practices in order to strengthen locally anchored social, cultural, and environmental dynamics. Emerging from several years of informal collaboration, L’Blaça builds on the strong culture of hospitality and openness developed within each partner’s space. These spaces already function as hubs for professional training targeting populations with limited access to opportunities—particularly women and youth—in fields such as culinary arts, crafts, creative trades, personal care, and design. They also serve as points of market access for producers and artisans through solidarity markets, shops, and direct sales, as well as spaces for cultural creation, learning, and public debate. L’Blaça’s mission is to reinforce these existing dynamics by fostering solidarity-based cooperation, creative economies, and environmental sustainability, while gradually laying the groundwork for a shared, inclusive collective third place rooted in its local ecosystem. Its priorities lie at the intersection of arts and culture, social inclusion, environmental practices, and economic empowerment.

Through the Mawjaat program, L’Blaça aims to consolidate its internal structuring, articulate a shared vision and identity, experiment with joint activities across existing spaces, and document the process as a foundation for a sustainable, community-driven third-place model in Tunisia.

L’Blaça members collaborate with the French Institute in Tunisia through occasional partnerships that support cultural programming, public events, and knowledge exchange aligned with our shared values of artistic creation, civic engagement, and cultural dialogue.
